Dr. Ashim Debnath is a plant breeder and researcher with expertise in genetics, molecular breeding, marker-assisted selection and crop improvement. His research primarily focuses on the genetic improvement of rice for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance and climate resilience. He is actively engaged in research, teaching, student mentoring and strengthening crop improvement programmes for the agricultural needs of the North-Eastern region of India.
