Prof. Sanjeeb K. Jena (b. 1 Jan 1970) is Professor of Commerce and Dean (Faculty of Commerce & Management) at Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. He holds a Ph.D. (Commerce) from Utkal University and earned top distinctions early in his career (Gold medal in M.Com., first in M.Phil). His qualifications include LL.B., Diploma in Financial Management, and PG Diploma in Computer Applications. With 32 years in academia and three years’ industry experience, he coordinates the ICSI Study Centre at RGU and leads several university bodies (IQAC member; Chair, University Legal Advisory Board; Chair, Administrative & Academic Audit Committee; Professor‑in‑charge, Placement), among other administrative roles. His prior associations include HAL, Orissa State Housing Board, UNICEF, OXFAM, Aeronautics College, Berhampur University, and Ravenshaw University. Apart from finance and financial management, his research spans rural finance and rural development, microfinance, indigenous knowledge, inclusive development, gender issues, financial planning, livelihoods, and social development. He has authored 82 research articles (13 in Scopus-indexed journals), 8 reference books, and a textbook on Principles and Practice of Management. He has supervised 10 PhD, 8 M.Phil, 9 MBA, 14 postgraduate, and 6 PGDRD researchers. Notable contributions include drafting university ordinances and boards of studies, preparing RGU’s Result-Framework Document, and leading RGU to a 96.5% score in a third‑party audit of proactive RTI disclosures. He has actively advanced development in Odisha’s KBK districts (member, KBK Development Board) and received recognition such as the Indira Gandhi National Award for Best NSS Unit (2002). Outside academia, he has represented his district and university in cricket and table tennis and directs/acts in socially focused street plays with organisations like UNICEF and OXFAM.
