Prof. Sanjeeb K Jena, an academician born on January 1, 1970, stands as an academic beacon with a distinguished Ph.D. in Commerce from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. His academic odyssey boasts illustrious milestones, including clinching the Gold medal in M.Com. (1990) and securing top honours with an M.Phil in Commerce (1992), a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (1995), a Diploma in Financial Management (1996), and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (2000). Notably, his academic prowess shone brightly as he secured the Sixth position in B.Com. and the coveted First position in M.Phil from Utkal University in 1988 and 1992, respectively. Currently wielding the mantle of Professor in Commerce, Dean (Faculty of Commerce & Management), and Professor-in-charge (Placement) at Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, a Central University, Prof. Jena's expertise spans a tapestry of 32 years in academia intertwined with three years of enriching industrial exposure. He is also the coordinator of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Study Center, RGU; DCA and CCGST courses in RGU, Member, IQAC, and Chairman – University Legal Advisory Board and Administrative & Academic Audit Committee, apart from other administrative assignments in the University. His professional voyage navigates through esteemed institutions and organizations, leaving an indelible mark of excellence at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Orissa State Housing Board, UNICEF, OXFAM, Aeronautics College, Berhampur University, and Ravenshaw University. His scholarly pursuits encompass a kaleidoscope of research interests, ranging from rural finance, rural development, micro-finance, Indigenous Knowledge, inclusive development, gender issues, financial planning and analysis, to the intricacies of livelihood and social development. His scholarly endeavours are punctuated by a prolific output of 82 meticulously crafted research articles, with 12 gracing the hallowed pages of Scopus indexed journals, alongside a plethora of publications in UGC listed referred and international journals. Furthermore, his literary legacy is enriched by the authorship of 8 seminal reference books and a comprehensive textbook on the Principle and Practice of Management. Prof. Jena's mentorship is a guiding beacon for aspiring scholars, evidenced by his adept supervision of 10 Ph.D., 8 M.Phil, 9 MBA, 14 Post Graduate, and 6 PGDRD researchers. Beyond the corridors of academia, Prof. Jena's influence radiates through multifaceted administrative roles and prestigious memberships in esteemed organizations, exemplified by his pivotal contributions to the drafting of University Ordinances, Board of Studies of Commerce and Management across multiple universities. He also plays a pivotal role in crafting the Result-Framework Document of Rajiv Gandhi University, a task typically undertaken by only two non-technical universities in India, till date. He is also spearheading his alma mater towards an extraordinary accomplishment, achieving an exceptional score of 96.5% in the Third-Party Audit of Proactive Disclosure of Information. This audit, conducted in accordance with the mandates of the Right to Information Act, 2005, and the rigorous guidelines for suo-motu disclosure outlined in section 4 of the RTI Act, underscores his institution's unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability. Prof. Jena's impact transcends academia, with a resolute commitment to societal development, particularly in the KBK districts of Odisha, where his visionary leadership has catalysed transformative initiatives for marginalized and tribal communities. His endeavours have garnered widespread recognition, including prestigious accolades such as the Indira Gandhi National Award for Best NSS Unit in 2002. Moreover, his stewardship as a member of the KBK Development Board underscores his unwavering dedication to uplift the underprivileged. Outside the realm of academia, Prof. Jena's multifaceted talents shine brightly, whether on the cricket pitch or the table tennis court, where he has represented his district and university with distinction.
