Dr. Rashid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry of Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Goalpara College, Goalpara and his M.Sc. in Chemistry from Gauhati University, Guwahati. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) Kolkata. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Rashid pursued postdoctoral research at Cornell University, New York, USA, under the mentorship of Prof. Emmanuel P. Giannelis. In recognition of his contribution in chemistry education, he was awarded the ACT Prof P R Singh Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chemistry Education 2023 by the Association of Chemistry Teachers. Dr. Rashid has authored more than 40 highly cited research articles published in leading international journals and has contributed 2 book chapters. He also holds eight US Patents stemming from his postdoctoral research, which was supported by Saudi Aramco, KSA, one of the world's leading oil companies. Over the course of his career, he has successfully completed several extramural research projects sponsored by DST-SERB, CSIR, and UGC-DAE CSR. He has supervised six Ph.D. scholars and currently mentors several doctoral students. His current research focuses on the synthesis of nanomaterials for environmental remediation and catalysis processes, with particular emphasis on developing advanced materials for sustainable environmental applications.
