Dr. Rashid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Goalpara College, Goalpara and M.Sc. from Gauhati University, Guwahati. He obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata (IACS Kolkata). He did his postdoctoral research at Cornell University, New York, USA, under the mentorship of Prof. Emmanuel P. Giannelis. He has been awarded the ACT Prof P R Singh Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chemistry Education 2023 by the Association of Chemistry Teachers in 2023. Dr. Rashid has published more than 40 highly cited research papers in different international high-impact journals and 2 book chapters. He also has a series of 8 US Patents to his credit, which are the outcome of his postdoctoral research supported by Saudi Aramco, KSA, the largest oil producer in the world. He has completed several extramural research projects from DST-SERB, CSIR, and UGC-DAE CSR. Dr. Rashid has also successfully supervised 6 Ph.D. students, and currently, a few scholars are pursuing their PhD under his guidance. His current research interests are the synthesis of nanomaterials for environmental remediation and catalysis.
