Research Interests
Dr. Bharat Kumar Allam’s research interests focus on synthetic organic chemistry and sustainable chemical transformations, with particular emphasis on developing efficient methods for the construction of carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bonds. His research encompasses photoredox catalysis, visible-light-mediated organic synthesis, transition-metal catalysis, sulfur chemistry, click chemistry, and cross-coupling reactions. He is particularly interested in the development of green and sustainable synthetic methodologies, including metal-free and low-metal catalytic processes, decarboxylative transformations, radical chemistry, and the use of functionalized organosulfur and organozinc reagents as versatile building blocks. His broader research interests also include photocatalytic materials, advanced oxidation processes, environmental remediation, degradation of organic pollutants, and functional materials for sustainable applications. His research aims to integrate modern synthetic chemistry, photocatalysis, and materials chemistry to address challenges related to sustainable chemical synthesis and environmental pollution.
