Circulation Section

Circulation Section is very important section of the library. Issue and return of books is handled with the help of computers. In this Section located on the Ground Floor. The timings of issue and return of books are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Periodical Section

The Library subscribes to about 92 journals, The Periodicals Section located on the Ground Floor of the Library, makes available these current sources of information. The opening hours of the Section are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Reference Section

In Central library near about 3000 reference sources like Encyclopedias, Yearbooks, Dictionaries, Atlas, Gazetteers, etc. These reference sources are not for issue. These can be kept for Xerox and consulted in the library. It is Located at Ground Floor.

Reference Desk

Through this desk you can query about any library matter.

Browsing Section (Ground Floor)

The Central Library has a separate browsing section adjacent to the main building holding about 12 no.s of computers with 100mbps V-Sat internet connectivity. Students are allowed to use these for academic purposes only.

Reprography Service

Central Library provides photocopy facility through an external agency, which is available at just out side of the central Library. A user can get the xerox of desired documents on payment basis.

User Education Programme

Central Library being the service provider, arranges the user orientation/education programme for the Students and Faculty members of Rajiv Gandhi University every year in the beginning of new session. In this programme, Central Library also educate about the system and services of the library. Apart from this, different topic related to users research / academic work is also covered in this programme from time to time.

Membership

The following categories of persons shall become members of the Central Library, Rajiv Gandhi University by default:
1. All the faculty members of Rajiv Gandhi University
2. All the regular students and research scholars of Rajiv Gandhi University
3. All other regular employees of Rajiv Gandhi University
