The Department of Fine Arts and Music RGU was established in the academic Year 2017-18 with a visionary initiative by Prof.TamoMibang Ex Vice Chancellor Rajiv Gandhi University and Prof S Simon John as a Department coordinator. The Department introduced with two Under Graduate courses, namely,
(i) Bachelor of Music, (duration -3 years) Providing Honours in Hindustani Classical Music (vocal).
(ii) Bachelor of Fine Arts, (duration- 4 years) Providing Honours in two subjects:
(a) Painting and (b) Sculpture.
The Department Fine Arts and Music was started with Founder HOD i/c Mr Ashok Barman Assistant Professor in Music.
