Founder: Prof Ranjit Tamuli
Dr. Ranjit Tamuli is a senior Professor and a noted Academician having a vast experience of teaching and research in the field of Commerce and Management. He did his M.Com & Ph.D. from the Department of Commerce, Gauhati University, Guwahati, Assam in the year 1984 and 1994 respectively. On 1st August 1985, he joined as Assistant Professor, Department of Accountancy in Lakhimpur Commerce College, Assam. Subsequently, on 3rd August 1995, he joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, Arunachal University(Presently Known as Rajiv Gandhi University). Prof. Ranjit Tamuli was appointed as Associate Professor, Department of Commerce in 1996 and was promoted as Professor in 2004. Prof. Tamuli was the founder faculty member of the Department of Commerce where he acted as the Head of the Department for more than a decade (1995-2005). Prof. Ranjit Tamuli was entrusted by the varsity to introduce, run and mentor Management programmes (MBA & PGDHMT) as Head of the newly formed Department of Management from 2005 to 2014. He was appointed as Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management for two terms i.e., six years. On 1st August, 2012, he joined as permanent Professor in the Department of Management. He served as the Controller of Examinations from 2014 to 2018 at Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh. On 18th August, 2018, he joined as Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Assam and continued till the 22nd November, 2021. Presently, he is the Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Management & Law. He has published 42 research papers in different National and International Journals, completed three major research projects, Authored one book , and successfully supervised 18 Research scholars for being awarded Ph.D. degree.
